Brother Bill was born in LaGrange, GA and spent several years there.  He moved to West End area of Atlanta when he was in the third grade.  He attended Brown High School and then was drafted into the US Army in 1968.  He served for two years, one in Viet Nam as a Helocopter mechanic and door gunner.  It was in Viet Nam that he realized he was a sinner and needed to ask the Lord Jesus to come into His life.  Upon returning from the service he joined Carpenter's Local #225 where he worked as an interior specialist for several years.  Brother Bill felt the call of God in his life for the preaching ministry and began to prepare.  He went went to Baptist Bible Institute, Mobile College and then to New Orleans Seminary.

Brother Bill has served several churches for the past 35-plus years as Senior Pastor.  He served Gillsville Baptist Church for the last thirteen years of his Pastorial Ministry.  He now serves as the Associational Missionary of the Mount Verrnon Baptist Association.
